Project Gabriel Angels Needed

The Council of Catholic Women of St. Joseph's church is in need of volunteers to be trained as Project Gabriel Angels to guide and mentor pregnant women through their pregnancy and up until one year after their baby is born.

There are many ways you can get involved. Walk alongside the client to provide emotional and spiritual support. If your time is limited, we need individuals who can work on publicity, driving her to needed appointments, getting the materials needed for her baby through donations from our parish community, and most important praying for her and our ministry, etc.!

If God is calling you toward this mission, please contact Lea for questions/information and to sign-up at krouse,projectgabriel@gmail.com or 630.719.9413. Training will be scheduled soon through Woman's Choice Services.

Message from our Board

St. Joseph CCW is very grateful to God for His blessings over the past year. We welcome women to our Member Evening September 28. We will discuss next year’s events and our service project—Project Gabriel. We’d like to share some highlights of events sponsored by CCW this year.
Installation of Officers/Living Rosary

Living Rosary/Mary's Garden

CCW began and ended the year with this event. The evening began with a Living Rosary in our parish chapel. Our ladies led the Rosary and placed carnations in a vase as each Rosary prayer was completed. The Living Rosary was followed by the opportunity to create a Mary’s Garden potted planter. Gardening tips were presented by an area horticulturist.

Installation of Officers/Living Rosary

Last October, a Living Rosary and installation of officers was held. The evening ended with a social hour and membership drive. Current CCW officers are:

Tammy Kinn—President
Rosary Smith—Vice President
Deb Secara—Recording Secretary
Michele Geraghty—Corresponding Secretary
Bonnie LeMay—Treasurer

Pat Lord, Roseanne Musil, Barb Kosowski are advisory board members.

A special thanks to Cathie Dunn who served as co-president for the 2010-2011 year.

Bunco Night

Ladies of the parish braved the cold February weather to attend a BUNCO night. It was an evening of camaraderie.

Parish Picnic

CCW ladies assisted with serving food at the picnic in August 2010.

Bishop Blanchette Scholarship

Tammy Kinn and Pat Lord attendedthe Friends of Bishop Blanchette Scholarship luncheon in March to support local high school students seeking scholarships to support their
Catholic education. The event raised funds to support three scholarships.

Cookie Exchange

In December, CCW ladies enjoyed a Christmas cookie exchange. Everyone took home a variety of delivious homemade cookies to enjoy over the holidays.

Mother/Daughter Luncheon

This special mother/daughter day began with Mass at 12:15 pm followed by a luncheon in Fitzgerald Hall. Several craft projects were available for the girls to do. Attendees included
four generations of the McParland family.

Woman of the Year

Congratulations to Michele Geraghty who received the honor of St. Joseph Parish CCW Woman of the Year.
