The 5:00 p.m. Sunday Ensemble
The Ensemble is a group of musician/singers dedicated to encouraging and inspiring the assembly's sung prayer at the 5 p.m. Sunday Mass. They gather weekly September through May and bi-weekly June through August. Commitment for a person with musical aptitude is about 4 hours a week.
Practices are held Thursday evenings from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and at 4 p.m.on Sunday before Mass. The Ensemble is directed by Benito Rosales, Jr., who can be contacted at: liturgy34@aol.com or by phone, 630-536-8278.
Ben Rosales is director of the 5:00pm Sunday Ensemble. Ben has been involved with the music ministry since 1969, working at all levels of the Archdiocesan seminary system, in numerous parishes in Chicago, and the Western suburbs. He has been a member of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians since its inception. Ben has performed with various liturgical musicians, as well as, professional Folk, Rock, Blues, and Jazz musicians. He is a management consultant for Sovereign Financial Services.
