Family Life

These organizations seek ways to provide enrichment to families and parishioners. You are invited to call concerning these programs. Watch the parish bulletin and information that will be sent home regarding this.

STUDENT PROGRESS

One on one communication between parents and teachers is essential to understanding the needs of each child. Parents are always welcome to visit classrooms and are encouraged to do so often during the year.

STUDENT BEHAVIOR

We affirm students whose behavior is respectful of learning. If a child is disruptive and interferes with the rights of others, the procedure ordinarily followed is:

The catechist reconciles the problem directly with the student when possible

If a problem continues, the student meets with the Director of Religious Education or the Director of Youth Ministry.

If the above is ineffective, a conference including the child, teacher and parents will result.

It may be deemed necessary to withdraw the child from the classroom if behavior warrants such action.

SAFETY PROCEDURES

See Handbook.

GENERAL PROCEDURES

If weather conditions necessitates classes be canceled, an announcement will be made on the local radio/TV stations (AM WMAQ, WGN, WBBM; FM: WLS, B96, US99; TV: 32).

ATTENDANCE

Continued religious instruction throughout all programs and classes is offered. In order to receive continuity and full development, consistent attendance is required. Any substantial absence will require appropriate make-up of religious education.

A CALL BY A PARENT TO THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION OFFICE (971-1740) IS REQUIRED FOR ABSENTEEISM.

Arrival on time for class assures students and teachers of the full benefit of instructional time. At the end of the class, please pick up your child promptly. If there is a problem, please call the Religious Education Office.

TRANSPORTATION

Ordinarily, parents arrange transportation for their child. However, if help is needed, please call the Religious Education Office. We will attempt to help you arrange transportation.
