Mr. Robert (Pat) Sullivan

Deacon

Pat and his wife, Mary Lynn, both native Chicagoans, have been members of St. Joseph Parish since 1976. Pat was ordained a deacon in the Archdiocese of Chicago in December of 1978. As a deacon, Pat worked in a variety of ministries including Catholic Charities in Chicago, the Joliet and Metropolitan Correctional Centers, and St. Joseph's St. Vincent de Paul Society. For more than twenty years, Pat has been employed with the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Fair Housing Enforcement. In these positions he has conducted and supervised civil rights investigations in the areas of education and fair housing. Currently he is a Community Builder at HUD working in Kane and DuPage counties with urban centers like Elgin and Aurora, facilitating and advancing a variety of HUD housing and economic development programs that serve the homeless and provide quality affordable housing for low and moderate income families in these areas.
