About St. Joseph Catholic School

St. Joseph Catholic School has been offering the Downers Grove Community a high quality Catholic Education for almost a century. With its traditions rooted back to 1910, today St. Joseph School encourages the student commitment to God while maintaining high academic standards. Teachers, parents and students find this community unequaled.

High Quality Academics

St. Joseph School Parents are proud of the highly qualified and concerned Principal and teachers that grace the class rooms of this school. There are two homerooms for every grade from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

Students attend computer classes and have library privileges on a weekly basis. Music and Art classes are also taught once a week. Physical Education is taught twice weekly to all students except for Kindergarten students who enjoy P.E. once a week.

The St. Joseph School day is administrated with a high level of expectations. Students are encouraged to appreciate and achieve in their education.

St. Joseph School Students are administered achievement tests yearly at certain grade levels. The test scores are well above the national averages. These tests enable teachers to check the progress of each individual student as they advance from grade level to grade level.

St. Joseph graduates have been recognized as Valedictorians at Benet Academy, Montini Catholic, and both Downers Grove North & South High Schools.
