Saint Joseph School of Downers Grove
Battle of the BooksOne Hundred and Forty- One students have signed up to participate in the Battle of the Books this year. During the past couple of weeks students have had an opportunity to meet with their teams and select their books, so now - IT'S TIME TO READ!
Books are available to be purchased at Anderson's Bookstore, or may be borrowed from the Downers Grove Public Library. The school library also has a l imited number of each book available to be checked out.
It is important that each participant does their part by reading their books, as they have made a commitment to their teammates.
Competition questions will be based on names, dates, places and story content.
Qualifying rounds will begin on January 7th and the final, championship battles will be held on February 6th (middle school) and February 20th (intermediate). Qualifying rounds will be held in the school library and are to be attended only by the two teams that will be competing. Parents, students and teachers will be invited to attend the championship battles on February 6th and February 20th at 1:20, in the school hall.
Any questions should be directed to Mrs. McCutcheon in the school library.
