Dear Friends, Neighbors,

Emily KranzWe would like to express our heartfelt thanks for all the love and support these past three years for Emily and our family during her critical illness and subsequent recovery.  It is hard to fathom that it has been three years since she was faced with the fight for her life.

We feel so very blessed that she has made such a remarkable recovery.  We were informed by Loyola that after an intense study, they discovered that Emily is one in approximately 3 million to survive the type of ADEM that she endured.  She truly is a miracle and her case has been submitted for publication in numerous Medical Journals, with the hope of saving additional lives.  Emily has already surpassed all medical expectations in her healing process.  She is beyond amazing!!

Sadly, there are countless sick children who are not as fortunate and they will spend their holidays in the hospital.  We started a small gesture of giving back some of the love that was bestowed on our family.  This is our 3rd annual “Emily Gives Back” drive to bring hope and comfort to the families who will spend their holidays in the hospital.

You have been supportive in the past and we are asking once again for contributions for our cause.  We would be extremely grateful for any donations of non-perishable food and holiday treats to bring to the families who have children in the ICU at Loyola Hospital, this Christmas.  Many families literally live in the waiting rooms @ the ICU while their children fight for their lives.  Please help us make their waiting more bearable this season.

Some suggestions are fruit, cookies, granola bars, candy, packaged snacks, bread, juice, small games for the children, gift certificates for food, or whatever you deem appropriate.  We cater a meal for the families, but the extras make a huge difference!!  If you can help, please deliver the items to Sr. Dorothy Randall by 12:00 pm on 12/23/11.  She lives on the corner of Forest behind the rectory and has a large enclosed front porch that is always open.  If it is more convenient, you can drop the donations at our home located @ 4505 Middaugh Ave.  If you have any questions please call Jayne @ 630-810-0259.

We wish everyone a blessed holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, again and again!

Sincerely,

Jayne, Paul, Matthew & Emily Kranz
