DG Junior Woman’s Club 2006 Recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award...

Mary McGlone!

In 2006, St. Joseph School teacher Mary McGlone (R) found herself moving from her kindergarten class to the second grade.  There she met once again, student Haleigh, who found herself praising her kindergarten and now second-grade teacher as she worked through hearing difficulties. Haleigh's mother, Debra, recalled McGlone's assistance, "She took Haleigh under her wing and went above and beyond to help her to love learning again." Haleigh wrote, "Mrs. McGlone said that God loves all children, even those with broken ears!" Haleigh has now moved onto third grade and is enjoying her learning experience at St. Joes! Mother Debra added, “We have found all of the teachers Haleigh has had at St. Joseph to be wonderful, giving Haleigh the support she needs as she goes through multiple surgeries!”  Thank you, Haleigh!
