Do You Know Jesus
Third Sunday of Easter
Luke 24:13-35

Today’s gospel story starts out forlorn but ends in triumph! It begins with 2 disciples returning to their hometown to live their lives as they were before meeting Christ. Jesus’ followers were trying to figure out what to do without him in their lives. They felt sad and lost without Christ.

Christ meets the disciples as they walk. At first the disciples did not recognize Christ. The gospel says, “…their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.” However, once they recognized Christ it was a life changing event for the better.

Think about your life today. Is there a person who you have a hard time getting along with? Could it be that you are preventing yourself from seeing Christ in this person? What can you do to change your feelings about this person? By changing your view and seeing Christ in this person your life can change for the better too!
