Do You Know Jesus
Year A, Most Holy Trinity
John 3:16-18
Today’s gospel contains a verse that is often quoted. It is John 3:16 which says,
“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”
Why do you think people are shown on television (for example sporting events) holding up signs that say John 3:16? Are there any bible verses that you know by heart? Think of them and share your favorite verses with your family.

Father Jerome Agrees To Eat Anything!
Well kind of....
For fiscal reasons, Father Jerome has let go of the rectory cook. We would like to help him out and he has graciously agreed. If you would be willing to share your family's meal by preparing a little extra and dropping it off a few times per year, Father Jerome and his new associate would be most grateful. If you are interested in an easy way to say "Thanks" to Father Jerome and to help keep our parish fiscally sound, please contact me as soon as possible. Thanks.

End of Year Teacher Collection
The end of the year is fast approaching and with it comes all the paper work and busy work to wind things down.
What sometimes gets forgotten is recognizing our teaching staff and all the support personnel that makes our school so successful.
Because of changes in the tax laws, the diocese issued new directives that will eliminate our end of the year collection through the room moms. Next year we will only formally structure a Christmas collection.

So...for this end of the year collection:
1) There is no room mom or helper doing the collecting.
2) If you are interested in showing your appreciation, please give your gift directly to your teachers and aid.
3) The dollar amount or gift idea is left up to you.
4) Please remember the specials if you are so inclined (music, computer, band, choir, k club, etc..) They sometimes get lost in the shuffle.
Thank You!

Please review the packet of information, that your child brings home, and make sure they bring it back with them on May 28th. Students will be asked to attend at least one local leadership workshop. Workshops are not held on school days.

May Crowning
May Crowning St. Joseph's May Crowning was a beautiful event held on Wednesday, May 7th. While inside with angelic sounds of students voices and the site of fresh flowers crowning Mary and baby Jesus, God graced us with rain for the blossoms of spring. A photo of our second-grader's dash through the raindrops can be see in the May 8th Metro section of the Chicago Tribune.

Travels with 'Roo
G’day Mates, Before I let the roos at the computer for their final letter, they asked me to tell you that they won’t be returning to St. Joe’s next year. By the fall they’ll be too old to travel by pouch any more so they are returning to Australia to run with the rest of their mob (that’s a group of kangaroos).
They really miss their mums too and they know they’ll miss all of you, especially those families that were kind enough to take them along on their family trips and special events. Since our last letter they added another 22,052 miles bringing them to a total of 73,620 miles. They didn’t pass last years total, but they had fun trying. So I’ll turn the keys over to your little cobbers here and let them bring you up to date.
