Do You Know Jesus?

32nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 20: 27-38
Today’s Gospel is about life in Heaven. Because of our belief in God we have the opportunity to live forever in Heaven. What image of Heaven does today’s Gospel create in your mind? In answering this question think about:

  • What truly makes you happy?
  • What feelings do you experience when you think of heaven?

Take a moment to discuss this. If time allows, draw a picture of what you think Heaven is.

FROM THE DESK OF MRS. STASI
Protecting God's Children for Children
After participating in “Protecting God’s Children”, many parents requested that we follow up with a children’s program. Therefore, the Diocese of Joliet embarked on a search for suitable materials.

This program is called “Talking About Touching”. We will be using the same program that we used last year. The “Talking About Touching” program, adapted for the Diocese of Joliet, is a way for your child to learn to recognize and respond appropriately and assertively to improper (sexual) touch. The instruction is gentle and will help your child learn about these unpleasant realities in a positive way. Your child will not be exposed to specific sexual language or depictions of graphic situations.
Click here for curriculum details and more information.

If you do NOT wish for your child to participate, please sign the release below and return it to school by the November 12th.

Sincerely in Christ,
Rita Stasi Principal

Picture Retakes - Monday November 19th
Picture Retakes will be on Monday, November 19 and will begin at 8:30. Only those students that are having their pictures redone will be out of uniform.  Remember to send the complete package back and the payment envelope with your student.  (pictures should be arriving any day if not received by this newsletter deadline).

Can you spare 1 hour per month to help with lunch and recess? We are a little short of help on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and could use another person or 2 to help out. This is an easy job, a great way to say hi to your kids during the day, and younger siblings are always welcome. Grades 1, 2, 3 and 6 eat during shift 1 (11:15-12:10) and Grades 4,5, and 8 eat during shift 2 (12:05-1:00). Contact Ann Klein if you can lend a hand! 630-963-9281
