Do You Know Jesus?
33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 21:5-19
Today’s Gospel appears to be grim, but the message is really one of hope for Christians. The Gospel mentions the end of the Church and the end of time. There will always be turmoil in the world and temptations that pull us away from God. Luke’s Gospel reminds us to always have faith in God. It is our faith that successfully gets a person through bad times. Christ made a promise to His believers that He will help us in difficult times – all we need to do is stick with Him! What are your rewards by choosing to follow Jesus?
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. STASI

From the Desk of Sr. Dorothy
Dear Family,
Have you been to a gathering and afterwards someone says that it was so good to see so and so? You reflect back and wonder where you were since you did not see that person? Is there a correlation between the above and Christmas? We say that Jesus is the reason for the season, yet do we see Him?
Advent, the preparation for the coming of the season begins on December 2nd. “Prayer glasses” will help us see Jesus. “Do You Know Jesus?” appears each week in the eMessenger. When could you fit a discussion on the questions into your family time? Is there table time for this or how about car time while waiting for the train to pass?
In the November 29th ‘Thursday Envelope’ each family will receive a flip calendar of our traditional Catholic prayers that was prepared especially for us and for Religious Ed. Let us take time to continue that relationship so that we will see Jesus with our hearts. Happy thanksgiving! There is gratitude for each of you!
Sincerely in Christ,
Sr. Dorothy
P.S. Did you know a couple of moms prepare “Do You Know Jesus?"
Writing your own Thanksgiving prayer
Do you desire to lead your family in a Thanksgiving prayer?
Consider these questions as a way of preparing for your prayer:
What were the major events that took place in your
family this year?
Did your family grow in number, through weddings or births?
Did your family experience hard times? If so, consider what you learned from each situation.
Who are the members of your family?
Name one quality that you’re thankful for in each person.
G'day Mates, Ozzie, Aussie, JoJo, and Sydney here.
We wrote you an update about our travels, and Mrs. Salek included some photos of our scrapbook pages for you to see. We're having a great time, so come and see what were up to on the web page. And if you're doing some traveling, don't forget to drop Mrs. Salek a note and take one of us along. Come on, Mums and Dads, we make great companions for those boring business trips and the kids love us! TaTa! The Roos Travels with Roo

School Mass of Thanksgiving Nov 20th
As in past years, we are asking the students to participate in a special way by bringing canned or packaged goods to Mass next Tuesday. We want to emphasize the spirit of sharing that was present at the first Thanksgiving as well as our responsibility as baptized Christians to help those in need. During this week, November 12 thru the 16th, the Student Council is collecting food to help stock the St. Joseph Food Pantry so that the Pantry has sufficient items to put in the Thanksgiving food baskets which will be given out this weekend. The food items that we will collect at the November 20th Mass will be given to our Food Pantry to replenish their shelves which were depleted by the Thanksgiving baskets. Thank you for your generosity and kindness to those in need.
