Do You Know Jesus?

Luke 17:11-19
28th Sunday of Ordinary Time

In today's Gospel, Jesus was traveling and 10 lepers were waiting for him along the road. They called out to him for help. Jesus sent them on their way and cured their disease. Only one of the ten returned to thank Jesus and praise God for the miracle of healing he received. In this story, we are reminded to have faith in God when we are troubled. We should always be thankful for God's blessings upon us.

When you say thank you to others for a kind act you are also saying thank you to God. God works through others to help us in troubled times. Have you ever taken God's generosity for granted? Discuss with your family the many things you are thankful for.

Testing Reminder Grade 3, 5 & 7

Starting Monday, October 15, and continuing through October 24, our students in Grades 3, 5 and 7 will be taking the IOWA Tests. Please make sure children get a good night's rest and have a breakfast each morning. Testing will occur during the first class periods each morning.

If you placed an order last month, your Messenger child should be bringing it home today As you might expect when trying to fill so many orders, we have some missing items, as well as extra items We would really appreciate it if you could double check your order when you receive it and if you find any discrepancies please contact Maribeth Ruf at maribethruf@gmail.com or by phone at 630-968-5981. Once again thank you to all families that purchased Spirit Wear. This 8th grade fundraiser was a huge success.

Fundraising

ULTRA FOODS is sponsoring a 5% cash back to community groups. Please save your receipts dated between 10/1/07 and 12/31/07. They can be turned into the blue container by the School Hall or sent to Amy Marciniak c/o Molly Rm 14.

BOX TOPS please continue to save these and return them to the blue container as well. We will be updating the promotion section on the school website to include all participating products for Box Tops. Please turn them in soon, we will be making a submission on 10/27/07. So far we have accumulated over $500 worth of BoxTops. Please encourage family and friends to save these, every little bit counts.

TARGET - Please use your credit card or apply for one if you do not have one. Sign up to support St Joseph School. We receive 1% back on your purchases in the store, 0.5% back on purchases other than at Target and after you spend $1000 you get a card for 10% off your entire purchase your next trip. St Joseph is leading our community in money received from the Take Charge of Education program. Since its inception , St. Joseph has received over $15,000 from Target that goes to Parent Forum to offset costs for parties and programs throughout the year.
