Do You Know Jesus?

Luke 18:1-8
29th Sunday of Ordinary Time

In today's Gospel, Luke is once again giving us a wonderful parable from which we can learn much. The parable teaches us is to have faith and trust in God to know that our prayers are always heard. Prayers may not always be answered the way we want them to be, but here is where the faith and trust in God comes in, we need to remember that God knows what is best for us at all times, in all situations. Could it be that sometimes we pray for the wrong things? What is appropriate to pray for? Prayer brings active participation to your wants and needs.

Thanks to everyone that helped out with this year’s Crusader Spirit Wear 8th grade fundraiser. From the many 8th grade students and parents who helped model and sell the Spirit Wear; to those who worked LATE into the night last week to sort nearly 200 orders so we could get the Spirit Wear out to the families in record time!Thank you to the Pinelli family and P&S Sign for helping to create the designs and deliver such an awesome selection of t-shirts, sweatshirts, wind shirts and capri’s! The biggest thank you goes to Maribeth Ruf who has worked since June on choosing product, selling the items and the biggest job . . . inputting and reconciling the nearly 200 orders and the money along with it! A huge job done to perfection! Thanks St. Joe’s family for sharing your Crusader Pride and supporting the Class of 2008!

Aurelio's Day is on Halloween Wednesday, October 31st

St. Joseph Youth Ministry continues to prepare for World Youth Day 2008. With less than 300 days to go, many people are already registered - Australia has almost 64,000 and the United States almost 38,000 participants so far! More than 500,000 are expected to take part in at least one WYD event, which will feature the first visit to Australia by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. Aurelio's has agreed to change our fundraiser date from the last Friday of the month to Halloween! Last year the phones "rang off the hook" from the many supporters of St. Joseph-we had the Aurelio's employees busy for hours and hours! To alleviate the "mad rush", please consider placing a pre-order either on Tuesday or earlier in the day on Wednesday. As much as Aurelio's would like to serve you in a timely manner, please remember this is one of their busiest days of the year! Your patience is greatly appreciated! We thank you in advance for your continued support! Please mention St. Joseph Youth Ministry when placing the order and turn in the coupon below when paying.
