Do You Know Jesus?

31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Luke 19:1-10

Luke shares with us a story of Jesus traveling to Jericho and meeting a tax collector named Zacchaeus. In Jesus’ time, tax collectors were unpopular. Zacchaeus particularly was unpopular because he took more money than he needed and kept it for himself. The crowds in Jericho were not pleased that Jesus spoke first to Zacchaeus. However, because of the grace shown to Zacchaeus by Jesus, Zacchaeus turned his life away from selfishness and greed toward serving God.
The message in today’s Gospel is twofold. Jesus came to save all people, even those who have strayed away from God. And, when we truly meet Jesus we change our lives for the better. Would your life be different if today Jesus showed up on your doorstep?

FROM THE DESK OF MRS. STASI
Report Cards Home
Report cards will be coming home with your student on Friday, November 2, please remember to check their backpacks.  Parent/Teacher conferences will be held on Thursday, November 8.

School Deep Clean
On Friday, November 9, the cleaning company will be doing a detailed cleaning of our school.  We are using the positive approach against  the MRSA virus and the cleaning company will be using a disinfectant called Microbanqgc.  They have been cleaning regularly but on this day they will be doing a very detailed cleaning.  We have been told that the best defense is hand washing, covering any open wounds or sores and encourage students not to share any items with other students.

Parent/Guardian Pupil Transportation
Parent(s) or legal guardian(s) who must provide transportation to and from school because free transportation is not available for their children may be eligible to receive money from the state to help offset some of the cost, for example, bus fares, or mileage reimbursement for private automobiles at $0.485 per mile. If you can answer yes to the following questions for the current school year, you maybe eligible to receive reimbursement for providing such transportation.

1) Will the pupil be under the age of 21 at the close of the school year?
2) Is the pupil a full-time student in grades Kindergarten through 12?
3) Does the pupil either live 1 1/2 miles or more from school or 1ive less than 1 1/2 miles from school but must be transported due to a serious safety hazard approved by the Illinois Department of Transportation?
4) Does the pupil attend a school within Illinois, which meets Illinois compulsory attendance laws?
5) Did the parent/guardian incur transportation expenses resulting from transporting the pupil to and from school?
6) Did the pupil not have access to transportation to and from school provided entirely at public expense?
7) Did the parent/guardian reside within Illinois during the time period expenses were incurred?

If you answered yes to the above questions, please watch the messenger for when the forms will
be available.
