Gift Wrap Fundraiser — it was another successful year for the gift wrap program. We hope you all have enjoyed your goodies. We netted a profit of $7,882 this year, topping last year’s results. Thanks for all the orders!
St. Nick Day — did your children tell you about the visit from our very own St. Nick, Father Jerome? Father Jerome and representatives of Parent Forum visited each classroom, teaching about St. Nick and passing out candy canes.
Christmas Concert — our annual Christmas Concert was another uplifting, engaging success thanks to Mrs. Schmitt, Mrs. Crilly, all of the teachers and our always entertaining students. Volunteers Needed:
It is time to start thinking about next year-what? Yes, we need to start lining up some new Parent Forum board members and committee chairs. Now is a great time to talk with the current members and see what positions are of interest to you. Each current chairperson or board member has a “guidebook” full of everything you need for his/her event/position that is passed on to you. Opportunities are available for dads and moms. Our contact list and a list of committee chairs is available here. Key opening positions:
Parent Forum Vice-President — this is a great position to share with another. Our VPs assist the President position and attend the monthly Parent Forum meetings. The board oversees all volunteer activities. The position is primarily oversight and strategic direction. The VP becomes President for the second year of the term.
Parent Forum Treasurer — this is a two year position on the board. In addition to attending the monthly meetings and strategic direction, this person handles the funds coming in and out of the Parent Forum account, including reconciling the bank statement.
Special Lunch Co-chair — Nancy Gelwicks is looking to train a person who could take over the chairperson position for the Special Lunch program after her daughter graduates next year. She would be happy to start showing you the ropes this year and carry into next year to make the transition smooth. She has this program down to a science so it will be easy to follow her lead! If interested, please contact Nancy.
Pizza Lunch Chair — this person plans and oversees the Friday pizza lunches, handles the pizza punch cards and schedules the volunteers who help on Fridays. This position can be co-chaired also. Kim Dietrich is happy to discuss this position with you. With her punch cards in place and established pizza provider, it is easy to step into this spot!
Christmas Program Chair — we are looking for someone to oversee the Christmas Program. This position could easily have subcommittees for tickets, programs, stage set-up/take-down and show control. Cathy Metzler would gladly go over the items we cover and the timing with anyone interested in taking over or leading a subcommittee chair.
