November 2007

Happy fall! Time is flying, so here is the scoop for November:

Welcome Mrs. Stasi

On October 13th, our parish welcomed Mrs. Stasi by holding a reception after the 5pm mass. Many people stopped by to say hello and welcome her into our St. Joe family.

Volunteers Needed:

We have so many volunteers that we are truly blessed. However, we can always use more help. Two opportunities are available:

Christmas Program co-chair – we are looking for a co-chair with Cathy Metzler to oversee the Christmas Program. Many volunteers have already signed on to send out the tickets, set up the church for the program, collect tickets and direct students during the performances. We still need someone to help coordinate the volunteers and make sure we don’t miss anything. If interested, please contact Cathy or any Parent Forum board member.

Special Lunch chair assistant/Co-chair next year – Nancy Gelwicks is looking to train a person who could take over the chairperson position for the Special Lunch program after her daughter graduates next year. She would be happy to start showing you the ropes next semester and carry into next year to make the transition smooth. She has this program down to a science so it will be easy to follow her lead! If interested, please contact Nancy or any Parent Forum board member.

A Thanksgiving Prayer
Samuel F. Pugh

"O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen."
