Pizza Lunch

Attention Pizza Lovers!  Pizza is offered for lunch on most Fridays during the school year: 

• Pizza is provided by 4 different local Downers Grove vendors: Sarpinos, Aurelios, Scusa Mi, and Skuddlebutts, who will rotate on a weekly basis.  We will notify you of the vendor each week in the e-messenger.
• On Friday’s your child will have the option of purchasing a slice of cheese or pepperoni/sausage pizza (pepperoni and sausage are available on alternating weeks) for $1.50/slice and a dessert for $0.50. 
• In keeping with the State of Illinois school standards and increasing environmental awareness, we do not offer pop, juice boxes or water bottles at pizza lunch.  As always, milk will be available.  If you wish your child to have an alternative drink, please feel free to send it along.

Prepaid Pizza Cards

We offer Prepaid Pizza Cards to make Friday mornings a bit less chaotic.  The details of the cards are as follows:

• The cards are sold in $20 denominations.  You can buy more than one card at a time, if you would like.
• The cards are kept by the pizza lunch coordinator (NOT the student) during the week and handed out to the students by their teacher on Fridays before lunch.
• A separate card should be purchased for every student (NOT per family).
• At checkout, the cashier will “punch” out the dollar denomination for the student’s purchase and keep the card.  It will then be kept by the pizza lunch coordinator to retain until the following Friday.
• Once a child has depleted the value of the card, a Pizza Card Re-order Form will be sent home advising the parent that their child needs a new card.  Please note: you can purchase additional cards at any time you do not need to wait until the child’s card is depleted.
• On any given Friday, should your child’s card be depleted or the remaining balance on the card not cover the cost of his/her lunch, they will still be allowed to purchase their lunch and a Pizza Lunch Re-order form will be sent home.  The amount owed for that lunch will be taken off his/her new card once it has been purchased.
• While we encourage students to use the Prepaid Pizza Cards, cash is still accepted on Fridays to purchase pizza; however, please try to send exact change with your child, as we do not keep a lot of cash on hand.
• There are various ways to purchase your cards:
• Download the order form, complete it and send it, along with your cash or check (checks should be made payable to Parent Forum) to the school, Attn: Pizza Lunch.  The teacher will give the cards to the students on Fridays before lunch.
• Students may purchase their pizza card on any Friday at lunch.
