Protecting God’s Children

Out of concern for the safety and well-being of children, every volunteer is required to participate in the "Protecting God’s Children Program," have a background check and read the Diocese policies.

We encourage all of our parents to attend this awareness program which gives information about warning signs of child sexual abuse, methods used to commit abuse, and empowerment steps one can use to prevent it. "Protecting God’s Children" is a 2-3 hour presentation.

All adult volunteers need to have the following on file with the Parish:       

1. A certificate of attendance for “Protecting God’s Children” Seminar
   If you attended a seminar send a copy of your certificate to the Parish
   If you need to attend a seminar, go to: Virtus, Protecting God’s Children workshops.
2. A background check (Needs to be redone every five years) Download Release Form
3. A signed Acknowledgement Form saying you have received and read both the Pastoral Policy Regarding Sexual Abuse of Minors and the Standards of Behavior for those Working with Minors. Download both documents
