Why I Like St. Joe's:

[by the First Grade class]

Student Council

St. Joseph Student Council is composed of fifth through eighth grade students. Those who wish to be in Student Council must go through a prayerful process called discernment that helps you connect with God and look inside yourself to see if you are right for Student Council. Eighth graders are the only students allowed to be on the Executive Board, which consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Sergeant of Arms, and Historians. Fifth through seventh graders are allowed to be Representatives or part of a Committee. We meet from 1:20-2:00 pm every Thursday in the School Hall during the Activity Period.

Student Council sponsors many fund-raisers, spirit, and service activities. Fund-raisers include Car Wash, Candy Sale, and Taffy Apple Sale. Spirit activities include Declamation Day, Mock-elections, Dances for seventh and eighth graders, and other fun activities. Some of our service projects are Food Drives and our Santa's Workshop. Along with regular meetings, we have workshops, conventions, and special meetings and activities. We always work hard, because our purpose is to serve the school, but we always make sure we have fun. We hope that Student Council is a great learning experience for all students.
