Miss BiernatMiss Patti Biernat

First Grade teacher, Patti Biernat joined St. Joseph School in 2006. Before coming to St. Joseph, she worked closely with preschoolers diagnosed with Autism.

Attending Benedictine University, she received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education with a Minor in Special Education. She shares her teaching philosophy. “I am in the field of teaching for the children and assisting the students to achieve their best.”  Adapting to the needs of each individual so as he/she is learning to his/her potential is so important to me.”  Miss Biernat integrates different learning modalities, such as kinesthetic, auditory, and visual, and provides opportunities for hands-on activities and the use of manipulatives.

“I truly enjoy working at St. Joseph School!  It is amazing to see how much the students grow, not only academically and physically, but also spiritually throughout the school year. I love to get hugs from the students every day!  I find that the support that I've received from faculty, staff, and parents has been remarkable. It is great to see the students get excited when they have done well on a paper or assessment, along with understanding new concepts.  Knowing that I am there for the students puts a great feeling into my heart!”

On her down time, Miss Biernat enjoys spending time outdoors, scrap-booking, or playing soccer!

Some of my favorite academic web sites for my students are:

The best way to contact Miss Biernat is by phone or e-mail. She checks her e-mail and voicemail at least once everyday (Monday - Friday). Please allow 24 hours for a response. You can also send a note to school with your child or call directly to the school office.
