Saint Joseph School of Downers Grove
Michelle DeBrulerSt. Joseph Middle School teacher, Michelle DeBruler has a solid foundation in the Sciences. Receiving her Bachelors in Math at the University of Denver, she chose Minors in Honors Physics and Education. Her work moved from a General Motors Research Lab to Argonne's National Energy Software Center, as part of her Masters was in Numerical Methods. As a Group Leader, she found herself designing and maintaining database software in the midst of main frame computers, long before today's personal computer.
DeBruler went to Catholic Schools, and it was the nuns in her high school that sparked her interest in physics and chemistry. When she attended the University of Denver, she was one of only three females in a class of 100 Science students. It was most likely because of this that DeBruler found herself President of The Chicago Chapter of Women In Science, where she sat on the Board that created, along with the Museum of Science & Industry, an exhibit on "Women in Science".
DeBruler is a solid addition to our Middle School grades, as she gives support to students in the field of science and mathematics.
DeBruler's three daughters are all now St. Joseph School Alumni.
