Mrs. Caroline Hanes (Miss Caroline)Miss Caroline received her Bachelors in Elementary Education at Illinois State University with endorsements in Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. She holds a strong background in working with special needs students in both Catholic and public school settings. For the past 10 years, she donated her time to Sacred Heart Parish where she taught Religious Education.
Coming to us in the 2010/11 school year from Lombard’s Madison School District 44, Miss Caroline created the newest addition to our school, our preschool program. Her past includes working in Early Childhood Education with at-risk and autistic students preparing her students for kindergarten readiness.
After graduating from ISU, her first teaching assignment was in Normal, Illinois, where she jumped right into teaching, handling two preschool classes and an additional kindergarten class in her early years of teaching. Married 21 years to husband Chris, together they are raising three children; a son in college and two daughters in high school. After taking time to raise her children, Miss Caroline returned to teaching, working in Lombard with three year olds before joining the St. Joseph staff.
Miss Caroline looks forward to each morning as her students arrive. “They have shown me how bright they are through their comments and discoveries. I am amazed to see how involved my students become in our daily activities.” She sees a variety of personalities and cherishes discovering each and every one!
Miss Caroline is assisted by preschool aide, Kathleen Pranckus, also known as “Miss Katie”.
