Gene Murphy

This is my 5th year at St. Joseph School. I teach 6th, 7th, & 8th grade. Subject areas of expertise are Language Arts for 6th, 7th, & 8th, and Religion for 8th grade. 

I have a B.A. from Lewis University. Prior to coming to St. Joseph School, I taught at St. James the Apostle from 1973-1977. I enjoy golf, cooking, and most sports, and I’m involved in the Knights of Columbus.

My teaching philosophy is to prepare students to become responsible and develop a desire for learning, and to prepare students to enter high school with a proper attitude for achievement and success. 

I enjoy working with students at this age because of the progression of the student’s ability and scholastic maturity through the middle school years.
