    • Catechism Quotes

    • “Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person—among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life.”

      Catechism 2270

    • “Every human life, from the moment of conception until death, is sacred because the human person has been willed for its own sake in the image and likeness of the living and holy God.”

      Catechism 2319

    • “Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law.”

      Catechism 2271

    • “The inalienable right to life of every innocent human individual is a constitutive element of a civil society and its legislation…”

      Catechism 2273

    • Promoting the Culture of Life through Prayer, Education & Action

The Catholic Church has a wealth of teaching on life issues.
Catholics for Life strive to pass on the beauty of these teachings
      through prayer, education, and action.

    • Mission Statement

      As Catholics for Life we:

      • Entrust to Mary, bright dawn of the new world and Mother of the living, the cause of life
      • Vow to proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love to the people of our time
      • Accept the Gospel of Life as a gift ever new
      • Celebrate the Gospel of Life with gratitude throughout our lives, and
      • Bear witness to the Gospel of Life resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love.

All this we do to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
(Adapted from Evangelium Vitae, Saint John Paul)

  • Keep the prayers coming!

    • St. Joseph's joined Catholics across the country in Eucharistic Adoration from 6pm Nov 30 - 7am Dec 1.  In the overnight hours before the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the landmark pro-life case, Dobbs vs Jackson Women’s Health, over 50 people prayed before the Blessed Sacrament.

Our pastor, Fr. Al, opened Adoration in prayer which continued throughout the night concluding at 7am with Benediction, blessing, Mass and Litany with Fr. Les.

Please continue to pray that God's will be done and lives are saved and healed!

      What is Dobbs and
      Why does it matter?

  • QUOTES

    • The profound moral question is not, "Do they [murderers]
      deserve to die?" but
"Do we deserve to kill them?"
      ~ Sister Helen Prejean ~

    • "A person's a person, no matter how small."
~ Dr. Seuss, Horton Hears a Who ~

    • Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use violence to get what they want.  That is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion.
      ~ Blessed Mother Teresa ~

    • Extreme Abortion Bills In Springfield

Can’t believe that the abortion bills in Illinois are all that bad? You’re sure that it’s just hype, and everything will be fine? Read the HB2495 bill for yourself at http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/101/HB/10100HB2495lv.htm and decide if you agree with this summary:

All restrictions on abortion are removed. Only the "pregnant individual" (they removed "mother" and "woman" from the definitions!) can decide (at any age--parental notification is revoked), all abortion statistics are now secret (no FOIA requests), doctors can't be disciplined for abortions on women who aren't even pregnant, and coroners can't investigate deaths at abortion clinics (women or children).

      House Bill 2467 & Senate Bill 1594

      • Repeals Illinois Parental Notification of Abortion Act. This current law requires a parent or legal guardian be notified when a minor seeks an abortion.

      House Bill 2495 & Senate Bill 1942

      • Repeals the current state ban on partial-birth abortions.
      • Defines abortion as a fundamental right.
      • Removes abortion clinics from regulations for serious medical procedures.
      • Removes the requirement that only doctors can perform abortions.
