Father of Wisdom, Thou have given us the right and the duty to elect government officials who will protect our "life, liberty and pursuit of happiness".  Help us to recognize that the privelege of voting brings responsibility in chosing leaders, in a country "under God", who will have the wisdom and courage to respect values that are consistent with the Catholic faith and natural law.
Grant us the understanding that within a nation under God, acceptable pluralism can never mean a compromise of moral principles embodied in natural law.  Give us the conviction that for a society to be truly human the actions of its citizens must be guided by principles based on the natural order.
Bestow on us the wisdom for choosing leaders who will recognize, promote, and defend the respect of human life as a fundamental value of society.  Grant us the courage to trust in Thee as we vote for leaders who, though not perfect, will make respect of human life a principle which they will never compromise.  Help all voers to see that candidates who will allow abortion, euthanasia or infanticide under the guise of freedom of choice, are enemies of the truly human society and unfit for holding public office.  
Give us God-fearing leaders who will defend the right to life in all of its stages.  
We ask this through Jesus, Who became man for our sake, in unity with the Holy Spirit, One God for ever and ever.
